What to do, what to do?

What to do on a rain day up here at the cottage?

How about build a "Camillo"?

(Or rather, watch a 'Camillo' being built-)

If you don't live on this street,

you most likely have no idea what this is.

They are life-savers up here. You see, the wild animal population can open garbage cans, believe it or not, and make a HUGE mess. You then need your sturdiest of gloves, and an underdeveloped gag-reflex...
A 'Camillo' nearly eliminates the days when you have to pick up the garbage strewn about the yard and street which the animals got into overnight.
 Like I said: Lifesavers.

They line our street proudly,

and many families have designed and built their very own.

(A couple examples for your viewing pleasure:)

Camillo:  cah-mill-O   /n./:

Garbage protector; Garbage container to keep out raccoons and various other miscreants.

Camillo: cah-mill-O /v/: To put trash in a Camillo Receptacle.  

As in, "Camillo the garbage, please, Nature Boy."

 Name comes from a last name of a neighbor who was the pioneer in Camillo design here on the block way back in 2009.

Family #1 Built it to share with our family;

Our family (Family #2) watched and cheered;

And Family #3 had us laughing with the Facebook chatter about the most important project this street has seen yet this year:

Family #1: "Guess who is the newest person on the block to build a "Camillo"!?!?!?"

Lions Tigers and Boys Family (Family #2):  "Ohhh! I know! I know! ;)"

Family #3: " Um...the Lions Tigers and Boys?"

Family #3: "How 2009 of you."

Family #3: "Was it designed by an engineer

[Note: Both adults happen to be brilliant engineers in Family #1]

or assembled with panels?"

Family #1: "We'll just say it may be so 2009, but it's big like the 80's"


Family #3: "How trashy."
