Feelin' Hot, Hot, Hot! (One Last Hot Week With Our Tennessee Friends~)

It is super rare that it nears 100 degrees in Northern Michigan,
but this is the week that it seems our heat index is breaking all the weather rules!
Instead of a breezy 75 to 85 degrees (our usual  summer temps-),
we are feeling hot, hot, hot.
(Cue the salsa music as we head to the beach for our last week with our dear Tennessee friends! )

It has even been too hot at night for the big kids to sleep in "Camp Huron" (their tent house-), so at night, the big kids have been staying up late playing Monopoly in the Great Room instead.

And last night, my dear Tennessee friend and I got a sitter,
and left the kids to have our own night out.

We had juicy, greasy burgers and onion rings at Barnacle Bills,
visited all the shops with the breakables we didn't dare bring six kids with us for the last three weeks,
walked the docks near all the yachts at dusk,

...and even fit in a trip to Walmart to buy stuff to regulate the septic system which has been gurgling a bit...

(We laughed as we shopped for this stuff we needed at Walmart:
Who -in their right mind!-has a sitter while they shop for this disgusting but necessary stuff???
She didn't believe me that septic cleaner would be so easy to find
-on a loaded-to-the-max end cap, no less!
As we drove home on our last night up here together, we were still laughing about how we spent our last hours here discussing septic tanks, septic cleaning and bacteria!)

What a great three weeks it has been with our dear, dear friends~

Love,  love, love you guys!

We are unseasonably cool this year. Our friends just went skiing in the Sierra Nevadas over 4th of July weekend. That's unheard of for us this time of year!

Hey, ms. Ruby Red Slippers - a voice from the past (not TOO distant past!) Your family is growing up so handsomely!!! My family is doing well too: my Tor is in Zambia on a mission trip right now! Checking their blogspot (707inZambia) inspired me to actually reconnect on yours. Amazing, as always!!! Love to you and yours,
Sue
